After Crown ProcedureFollowing your crown procedure, chew on the other side of your mouth to avoid any unnecessary stress on your temporary crown.

DO NOT eat hard or sticky foods, including chewing gum, while you have a temporary crown.

If your gum tissues are sensitive, you may rinse your mouth with warm salt water (1 tsp. salt to 1 cup water).

Continue to brush and floss around your tooth, being extra cautious not to dislodge your temporary crown.

If your temporary crown is causing your jaw to be sore, call the office.

If your temporary crown is loose or comes off, call the office. Please let the staff know ahead of time if the temporary crown is broken or if you have lost the crown.

If you experience any severe pain that cannot be controlled with over-the-counter medications, call the office.

* Routine cleaning appointments are very important to the care and maintenance of your crown. *

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call the office.
